According to AAA Data, 444,791 units were marketed in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 21.15% compared to the same period last year. Obviously, this increase is not significant insofar as sales had fallen sharply due to the first containment in March 2020.

On the other hand, if we refer to the last stable reference period for the automotive market, namely the year 2019, registrations are actually down 20.15% compared to the first quarter of 2019.

If we continue this same analysis taking the year 2019 as a base, sales by channel show a significant drop in tactical sales which had reached new heights in recent years, making it a full-fledged sales channel. .
Thus, the demonstration vehicle channel recorded a decrease of – 9.57% compared to 2019 for a total of 77,939 units and a market share of 17.64%.

Short-term rental companies also remain at a historically low level with a drop of -1.48% during the first quarter of 2021 for a market share of 12.50%.

Finally, the individual market fell by 25.60% during the first quarter of 2021, again compared to 2019.
