Twenty drivers will be at the start of the fourth edition of the Alpine Elf Europa Cup next weekend on the occasion of the Easter Cups on the Paul Armagnac Circuit in Nogaro (2-5 avril). Even before the 2021 campaign begins, the Alpine A110 once again demonstrates its unifying aspect by bringing together competitors aged 18 to 78!

Now anchored in the landscape of international motorsport, the Alpine Elf Europa Cup is preparing to experience one of the most contested and undecided seasons in its history as the field looks competitive and challenging.

To launch this year full of promises, around twenty competitors will be present at Nogaro, all seduced by the exceptional calendar of a category which will rub shoulders with the biggest European GT World Championships.

Conquered by this unique environment and the career prospects resulting from it, the protagonists will fight for three titles and 160 000 € bonuses and endowments, including 45 000 € to take the next step and tackle GT4!

Sacred last year, Jean-Baptiste Mela (Autosport GP) will be the first to sport the number 1 on his Alpine A110 Cup, since the pilot from Porto-Vecchio in southern Corsica, puts his crown on the line!

Logical favorite to his succession, Jean-Baptiste Mela will however have to adapt to the new situation in force, the Alpine A110 Cup now welcoming the engine of the Alpine A110S, whose power is now increased to 300 horsepower.

At the wheel of a mount offering ever more sensations, the defending champion will have all the more to do as his opponents intend to take their revenge. This will notably be the case for his former teammate, Laurent Hurgon. Best Gentleman in 2018 and second overall last year, the Ile-de-France was promoted to leader of Patrick Roger Autosport GP, the sister structure of the eponymous team, with which he will aim for supreme consecration.

Revelation of the 2020 season, Lilou Wadoux, also a member of the Patrick Roger Autosport GP, will hope to capitalize on his experience to appear more regularly in the leading group. The Frenchwoman will also find on her route the Polish Gosia Rdest, who should once again animate the peloton while guiding the Chazel Technologie Course structure for her debut in the Alpine Elf Europa Cup.

Among the newcomers, Thomas Dagoneau (Autosport GP) will be one of the competitors to watch closely after his solid prototype run, but several Juniors eager to boost their careers are ready to do anything to upset the hierarchy.

In this category, the succession of Jean-Baptiste Mela will be extremely open, the Corsican not being able to defend his crown after having imposed himself on the general at only twenty-two years old. Besides Lilou Wadoux, Louis Méric (Méric Competition) will also make its comeback with the stated objective of getting closer to the podiums and victory.

Vice-Champion of France F4 2018 and youngest race winner in the history of Formula Renault Eurocup, the Belgian Ugo de Wilde (Blacksmith Racing) will seek to strike hard from the start. Taking over from Mateo Herrero at the head of the team, Ugo will quickly want to win among the protagonists of the discipline, just like Corentin Tierce (Blacksmith Racing), who is switching from traction to propulsion after enjoying victory in the Clio Cup France last year.

Other defectors from the car hope to stand out, such as Simon Tirman (Autosport GP), who will return to competition nine years after placing second in the French F4 Championship. The ranks of the category will be completed by Henri Lombard (Race Cars Consulting), brother of Olivier, the youngest winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 and who will make his debut on the international scene.

The fight promises to be just as exciting for the Gentlemen, where Philippe Bourgois (Chazel Technology Course) will aim for a double while continuing to progress in the overall standings. The Belgian will however have to find his feet in his new team and face stiffer competition than ever!

Victorious three times for its first Alpine Elf Europa Cup campaign, the Race Cars Consulting team will want to confirm its good predispositions throughout the season with Franck Labescat, double winner in the class from his first appearance in Portimão. With already three victories to his credit, Stéphane Auriacombe (Blacksmith Racing) will share the same ambitions by having eyes only for the title.

Became specialists in the Alpine A110 Cup, Stéphane Proux (Blacksmith Racing), Franc Rouxel (Blacksmith Racing) and Pierre Macchi (Patrick Roger Autosport GP) remain loyal to the discipline and their teams. By choosing to bet on stability, the three men intend to dethrone Philippe Bourgois.

Finally, other protagonists will not be neglected, such as Grégory Romano (Autosport GP), back after three years of absence, while the indestructible and stainless Luc Rozentvaig (BL Sport) will be keen to show that he has lost nothing of his vista at… 78 years old! He who in the 80s already animated the pelotons !!!

On the Alpine A110 N ° 110 entrusted to a VIP, we will find Manu Guigou. French two-wheel drive Rally champion with the Alpine A110 Rally, the current leader of the FIA R-GT Cup will take the opportunity to sharpen his steering wheel before his future deadlines while demonstrating a versatility worthy of the greatest Alpine drivers. !
