Dr Jürgen Köhler is the former Managing Director of SGL Carbon, a world leader in advanced graphite materials. In Wiesbaden, Germany, he was responsible for nearly 5,000 employees and more than 30 factories around the world. SGL Carbon is a supplier to the graphite and composite materials industry for the automotive, aerospace, wind and solar power industries, as well as semiconductor, LED and lithium-ion battery manufacturers. . Before becoming Managing Director of SGL Carbon, Dr Köhler worked there for over ten years as a senior chemical engineer and department head for the company. Prior to joining SGL Carbon, Dr Köhler worked in the United States as Director, Manufacturing and Technology, at Celanese Corporation. He previously worked as a chemical engineer at Hoechst AG, Frankfurt.
