Esteban Ocon saw his top 10 chances soar yesterday at the Bahrain Grand Prix when Sebastian Vettel spun him off…
Sixteenth on the starting grid of the Bahrain Grand Prix last night, Esteban Ocon had made a solid first part of the race to return to the fight for points.
Unfortunately, his top 10 chances were gone when Sebastian Vettel spun him out, crashing into the back of his Alpine A521 at the first corner of the 44th race lap. The Frenchman finally finished thirteenth at the finish, not without disappointment.
« This is not the result we wanted, but there are a lot of positives today, Ocon confided after the arrival. We fought with several cars in fun wheel-to-wheel duels for most of the race. It was also the case with Sebastian at the end, but he blocked his wheels and hit me. He apologized, we all make mistakes and it can happen sometimes … »
« We were a bit tight overall. Qualifying did not help us because it forced us to gain places. We showed our fighting spirit during this race and it was quite important. The whole team will now look to the next race, where the goal will be to regain the points. »
The next Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place in three weeks in Emilia-Romagna, on the Imola circuit.
