For the sustainability of their jobs, the employees of MBF Aluminum in Saint-Claude (Jura) will mobilize this Tuesday, April 6, from 10 a.m., by demonstrating in front of the PSA company, in Sochaux.
PSA and Renault for main customers
At the call of Sud Industrie, CGT Métallurgie, CFDT Métallurgie and FO, the employees of this foundry created more than 70 years ago thus intend to protest against the restructuring of the foundry sector linked to the automobile in reason for French overproduction.
The company has around 280 employees and its main customers are PSA for 75% and Renault (20% of turnover).
Employees on strike
MBF Aluminum has been in receivership since November 4, 2020 following the volume decommitments of the principals.
“The levers for the sustainability of MBF are no longer the responsibility of employees but depend directly on French manufacturers”, say the unions. “Unfortunately, it turns out that today, this withdrawal on the part of the two manufacturers is an obstacle to the finalization of any takeover offers or the continuation plan of the current shareholder which could perpetuate MBF and its jobs. “.
Employees have been on strike with stoppage of deliveries since March 31 following the hearing of the Dijon commercial court. At a general meeting, the employees unanimously decided to make themselves heard directly before the manufacturers.
