Lexus LF-Z Electrified Concept Foreshadows Next Generation Lexus

The electric concept LF-Z Electrified showcases the style, technologies and driving experience that Lexus plans to offer by 2025.

Designed on a dedicated platform, the concept is distinguished by its powerful designt, son cockpit open to the outside, its technology Direct4 all-wheel drive and his artificial intelligence systems at the service of the driver.

The LF-Z Electrified boasts high-level dynamic performance thanks to the installation of the battery and the electric motor and the Direct4 all-wheel drive system.

By combining electrification and dynamic control technologies, the Japanese brand aims to offer its customers the Lexus Driving Signature, which further improves the connection between the vehicle and its driver.

The longitudinal positioning of the battery under the floor makes it possible to stiffen the structure of the vehicle andlower your center of gravity. It also helps absorb noise and vibrations from the road.

The Lexus Driving Signature gives the driver the feeling of being perfectly connected to the acceleration, deceleration and direction of the car at all times, with linear and rapid responses.

The Direct4 system by Lexus automatically distributes and manages the high torque of the engine on each of the four wheels. It converts to front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on driving conditions. It offers powerful acceleration and high cornering performance.

The steering is electronic, there is no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels. The system offers greater precision to the driver and ideally filters out vibrations caused by the road.

The body of the concept car is artistically sculpted.

The LF-Z Electrified illustrates how Lexus design will evolve, towards simple shapes, strong, generous proportions and a very differentiating appearance.

The general shape is based on a fluid cabin profile with a very thin front part and one rear raised. The large diameter wheels are pushed towards the corners of the vehicle, creating a wide posture.

At the back, a clean horizontal design and simple combines with a shape that highlights the wheels to generate a powerful posture. The thin horizontal rear light strip features the Lexus logo.

The rear mounting of the high efficiency electric motor contributes to high performance and dynamic road handling.

The passenger compartment is a open and minimalist space.

The LF-Z Electrified dashboard is positioned relatively low in relation to the passengers.

The sources of driver information, such as the head-up display in augmented reality, gauges or the multimedia touchscreen are grouped together in a single module, while the main controls related to driving are grouped around the steering wheel.

L’head-up display allows the driver to intuitively access vehicle functions and information without distracting their attention from the road.

The almost uninterrupted glass surfaces from the windshield to the rear window offer a feeling of space and a strong light, accentuated by the panoramic glass roof.

The panoramic roof is in electrochromic glass which can be darkened until it becomes completely opaque. A touch panel in the center of the roof allows front and rear passengers to communicate with each other.

The rear seats are reclining and benefit from a massage function.

At 4,880mm long, the LF-Z Electrified is 1,960mm wide and 1,600mm high.

Equipped with a 90 kWh lithium ion battery, it has a autonomy the 600 km (WLTP).

Weighing 2 100 kg, the concept has a maximum power of 400 kW and a maximum torque of 700 Nm.

The LF-Z Electrified achieves a top speed of 200 km / h and accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 3.0 seconds.
