The Legends Cars Cup made a stopover last weekend on the Pau circuit as part of the highly prized historic Grand Prix of the Pau track. At the foot of the Pyrenees, we found our red devils on duty David De Saeger and Maxime Lieutenant on the car with number 1. And the two friends did better than defend themselves on the famous urban track.
It started off pretty well with a fourth fastest time for David in qualifying while Maxime set the eleventh fastest time in his series. Two races with mandatory driver change are on the program for this third round of the season.
Responsible for taking the start of the first game, “Dave” made a first fire stint to climb up to second place on a circuit where it is not easy to overtake. Maxime then took the wheel and managed until the finish. The two accomplices completed this first act in fourth place, the victory going to Timothée Ghislain.
During Race 2, David had an average start but the Legend Car n ° 1 is in third position after the change of driver while the safety car is on the track. It was without counting on a decision of the race management which relegated the duo again to fourth place while Timothée Ghislain imposed itself more beautifully.
De Saeger and Lieutenant were nevertheless rewarded for their consistency and were finally classified in third place in the aggregate of the two games of the meeting. In the championship, De Saeger is tied with Claude Watteyne with 341 points, Lieutenant being fifth with 319 points.
After Pau, the Legends Cars Cup will travel to the foot of the Auvergne volcanoes, on the beautiful Charade circuit, on June 9, 10 and 11.
