President Emmanuel Macron announced on Wednesday March 31 the closure of non-essential businesses throughout France for the next four weeks.
Find the list of stores that can be opened (or closed) as part of the reinforced measures that apply, from April 3, to the entire territory.

Essential businesses that remain open

  • food shops (bakery, greengrocer, fishmonger, pastry shop, wine merchant, etc.)
  • mini markets, supermarkets and hypermarkets
  • pharmacies
  • banks and insurance services
  • gas stations
  • newsagents
  • stores offering products for pets
  • stores offering the sale and repair of computers, communication equipment or peripheral equipment
  • outdoor markets (depending on the municipality, non-food vendors may be temporarily excluded)
  • bookstores and record stores
  • video game stores
  • hairdressing salons
  • DIY stores
  • florists and plant and flower shops
  • stores offering repair and maintenance services for musical instruments
  • chocolate makers
  • the coordinators
  • laundries and dyers
  • car dealerships (by appointment only)
  • visits to real estate (but not real estate agencies)

The businesses that will close their doors

  • clothing and ready-to-wear stores
  • shoe stores
  • toy stores
  • jewelers and watchmakers
  • perfumeries
  • beauty institutes
  • massage and manicure salons
  • tattoo and piercing studios
  • driving schools (only driving license exams are maintained)
