From its stand located in Hall 1.2, Faurecia will unveil innovative solutions, designed to meet Chinese consumers’ demand for a safer, more comfortable and more connected on-board experience. The Group will also present its solutions for ultra-low emissions as well as its zero-emission hydrogen technologies for passenger and commercial vehicles.
A cockpit of the intelligent and immersive Chinese future
Taking advantage of the Group’s rich technological portfolio and its integration expertise, Faurecia will unveil a complete interior adapted to the needs of Chinese consumers, offering an immersive and personalized journey. Intelligent surfaces, innovative HMI, passenger monitoring and applications dedicated to well-being, as well as infotainment throughout the cabin and screen covering the dashboard, Faurecia will present its full range of technologies for the seats, interior and passenger compartment. electronics to support Chinese automakers. This cockpit will also promote LUMI technology, an exclusive innovation from Faurecia, integrating lighting elements into the seats creating a unique interior design.
This demonstrator demonstrates the maturity of the innovation ecosystem built by Faurecia in China. Multimodal HMI solutions were developed with Horizon Robotics and LUMI, the innovative lighting solution, was developed with a Shanghai-based university for the exclusive use of Faurecia.
A demonstration truck powered by hydrogen
In Shanghai, Faurecia will present a hydrogen demonstration utility vehicle for the first time. It demonstrates the capabilities of Faurecia and Symbio, a joint venture formed with Michelin, to optimize the system architecture and the integration of tanks and fuel cells. Faurecia has thus developed a hydrogen storage system with 7 tanks, designed to offer a range of 700 km to utilities transporting heavy loads over long distances. The demonstrator also incorporates a fuel cell system developed by Symbio, a compact and efficient solution providing a net power of 75 kW ideal for heavy vehicles. Through intelligent integration, the hydrogen storage system and fuel cell system will maximize payload.
At a time when hydrogen mobility is taking off, Faurecia enjoys a unique position to develop both storage systems and distribution services but also fuel cell systems, thanks to Symbio. These areas represent 75% of the entire value chain. Following the recent acquisition of the majority of CLD’s shares, Faurecia is perfectly positioned to become a leader in hydrogen mobility in China. By 2030, more than one million fuel cell vehicles will be on Chinese roads.
Technology for ultra-low emissions
Ever stricter emissions regulations require the development of technologies to improve engine efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions. As part of its commitment to provide solutions for ultra-low emissions, Faurecia has developed an electrically heated catalyst (EHC), designed to reach the optimum pollutant conversion temperature faster (less than 10 seconds) and using twice less energy than other technologies available on the market. With its electrically heated catalyst, Faurecia is anticipating the application of the China 7 emissions standard.
Faurecia in China, a solid presence in the leading automotive market
For 27 years, Faurecia has continued to develop its activities in China and today employs 17,000 people in 5 R&D centers and 58 industrial sites.
Faurecia has concluded 8 strategic joint ventures with major Chinese automobile manufacturers, enabling the Group to establish its presence with the country’s manufacturers to reach 2.5 billion euros in sales in 2020 (19.3 billion RMB). With its technological expertise, its commercial relations and its industrial presence, the Group plans to double its sales in China to reach 5 billion euros in 2025.
