Draw prototypes, the company Calip Group knows how to do. Based at Moult to the east of Caen (Calvados), this company, which works in particular for the military, automotive and aeronautics sectors, has sought to innovate within the framework of the fight against Covid-19. So, since the health crisis due to the pandemic disrupts our daily lives, engineers have been running the suggestion box to imagine useful products.
This is how was born at the end of 2020 Oxawear, the headband to hold the mask on the face, in order to offer more comfort to the one who wears it, like an audio headset. It is the result of work carried out by the head of Research and Development of the company who chose to patent it.
More comfort and hygiene
Many people complain of pain behind the ears after a few minutes or hours, because the rubber bands are too tight. Others feel uncomfortable when the rubber bands get tangled in the temples of the glasses.
“It is for these reasons in particular that we developed this headband, in conjunction with a company from Troarn which manufactures it,” explains Agathe Julien, marketing manager at Calip Group. It avoids any contact with the ears ”.
The different hooks positioned on each side also allow it to be worn more or less tight on the face, limiting the risk of irritation, which is common in some people. This headband also offers the possibility of letting the mask hang for a few minutes, without the risk of falling, for a coffee break for example, without having to put it in a pocket, to place it on a table or under the chin. . The contacts are thus limited, in order to guarantee the best possible hygiene.
The Calvados-based company hopes that supermarkets will take an interest in its product. “We are already selling it to some of our customers and opticians or audio-prosthetists have already shown interest. “
No less than 5,000 units have already been produced. These headbands are currently only available for purchase online, and are sold in sets of five (€ 24.50).
